…Often also served with fish fingers. Some people might like melted butter on their Kartoffelbrei.

Hello, we serve Kartoffelbrei with hot butter and sausages (“Wiener Wuerstchen”) in it, cut into little pieces. We call that “Versteckte Würstchen” (hidden sausages)!
I have a question: Is the owner / the author of this website a german? I am from germany. I think this site is great and the recipes are well but like you wrote they are most from southern germany. I am from north germany and I may have other interesting recipes for you!

My mother used to make warm mashed potatoes using the ingredients for regular potato salad, but I haven’t been able to find a recipe like that anywhere.
Does anyone have one?

Wonderful mashed potatoes. My mother-in-law
puts ranch dressing in hers. It is very delicious.
